Derwent Water Marina is an approved RYA Training Centre. The RYA Seamanship dinghy sailing course is aimed at those who have completed the RYA Level 3 course. The course is designed to improve your boat handling and manoeuvring ability in a range of different circumstances and develop the seamanship skills needed to solve problems afloat. The course will be taught by one of our professional RYA instructors in a friendly, safe and practical manner in a mix of single and double handed sailing boats.

Key Information
- RYA Qualified Instructor
- The course is run over 2 days from 09.30 to 4.30pm and consists of 2 x 3 hour sessions per day
- Maximum group size 6
- Minimum group size 3 (please see conditions below)
- The minimum age on the Adult scheme is 16 years. Under 16’s can follow the Youth Sailing Scheme
- RYA Dinghy Level 2 course is required and a reasonable level of fitness and mobility
- Wetsuits provided, please bring wetsuit shoes or old trainers
- Changing rooms and showers available (£1 coin required for a hot shower)
- Parking is available for the duration of the course
- Arrive at least 20 mins before the course starts.
- Sessions will only be cancelled in the event of extreme weather conditions (Please note – rain is not an extreme weather condition)
Booking Terms and Conditions
- Full payment required at time of booking.
- Bookings are non-refundable once made.
- If the minimum number of participates is not met, we reserve the right to cancel, offer an alternative date or run it as a private session (additional cost for this).
- If we cancel the session all monies will be refunded.
- Health declaration forms must be completed and returned before attending the session.
