Hiring a boat is the perfect way to get out and explore the Islands and shoreline of Derwent Water. The Summer hire season runs from April through to the end of October, with a choice of Paddle Boards, Kayaks, Canoes, Rowing Boats and Pedalos available. When choosing your craft you should think about who is going afloat (ages, experience, who is sharing boats etc.). Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult on the water and you should ensure that there are enough adults to supervise young people in your party.
As a guide an adult should be responsible for no more than 3 young people. We do not hire boats or equipment to third party providers / instructors to run their own sessions. (This includes commercial providers, schools & other organisations).
We will give you a general briefing on where to go on the lake but you should only hire craft that you are confident you and your party can manage. Please contact us if you would like some advice on what to hire.

Please be aware, prevailing weather conditions may limit the type of craft available for hire and the areas of the lake you may visit.
